An Evening with Friends – Featuring Maya Beiser in Concert
On May 20, 2017 We gathered to celebrate the works of Miami Light Project, an organization that we love, while raising funding to directly support the artistic programs and outreach activities. We became VIP sponsors of the one-night-only phenomenal concert of Maya Beiser – the post-modern diva of Avant Garde cello. The concert took place at the Light Box at Goldman Warehouse at 404 NW 26th Street in Wynwood.
The event was surreal and dream-like from the moment you entered the The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse. Ms. Beiser, raised on a kibbutz in Israel by her French mother and Argentinean father captivated the audiences with her virtuosity and eclectic repertoire that included songs made famous by Led Zepplin, Lou Reed, Philip Glass and Kurt Cobain. Team RMG joined The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse to support the event and this talented cello diva. The night included great food, potent cocktails, food trucks, brilliant performance and the best of friends. The evening continued with cocktails and a private toast with Maya Beiser.
Maya Beiser: Described by the The New Yorker as a “cello goddess” and by the San Francisco Chronicle as “the virtuosic queen of post-minimalist cello.”
Over the past decade, she has created a new repertoire for cello, commissioning and performing many works written for her by today’s leading composers. Most recently, Maya has collaborated with composers Louis Andriessen, Tan Dun, Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Osvaldo Golijov, Steve Reich, and Simon Shaheen, among many others. Maya has toured as the featured soloist of Philip Glass’s Naqoygatsi with the Philip Glass ensemble, having appeared recently at the Sydney Opera House, Lincoln Center, the World Expo in Nagoya, Japan, and in Barcelona, Paris, and San Francisco.
RMG Staffing is proud to have been given the opportunity to be a major part on this phenomenal concert for Miami Light Project with a VIP sponsorship and by providing professional staff to serve the guests, work the bar and to make this event go without a hitch.
